Information security is a fundamental element for developing reliable technologies and supporting the digital transformation of industry. In a context where machines, control systems, and cloud platforms are increasingly interconnected, protecting data and managing cyber risks is a responsibility that involves the entire technological supply chain.
For this reason, at Higeco, we have been IEC 62443-4-1:2018 certified (Product security development life-cycle requirements) for years, and we work to integrate cybersecurity into our business processes and the solutions we develop for monitoring and controlling industrial and energy plants. This constant commitment reaches an important milestone today.
We are proud to announce that on 10/15/2026, Higeco officially obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the international standard for information security management systems. This recognition comes after almost two years of work, dedication, and continuous improvement, confirming our focus on data protection and cyber risk management, and strengthening our commitment to ensuring security and reliability for our customers and partners.
ISO 27001: Security as a Business Process
The ISO/IEC 27001 standard defines the requirements for establishing, maintaining, and improving an information security management system. Its objective is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data through a structured approach to risk assessment and management.
For Higeco, this journey is part of a broader vision of security, involving people, processes, and technologies. Information management, responsibility definition, and risk control become integrated elements in how we operate and develop our solutions.

Integrated Cybersecurity in Products: The HSC Case Study
Our commitment to security is also reflected in the technologies we design. A concrete example is HSC (Higeco Secure Controller), the RTU developed for industrial automation and control systems, designed for monitoring and remote control of industrial and energy production plants.
HSC-110-C integrates hardware and software cybersecurity functionalities and was developed with particular attention to the security requirements of industrial systems. The product holds specific recognitions and certifications, including ISA Secure CSA according to IEC 62443-4-2 and ISA Secure SDLA according to IEC 62443-4-1, in addition to FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification for the cryptographic component.
These standards address complementary aspects of security: from requirements applicable to industrial automation components to secure development practices, up to the protection of cryptographic components.
HSC-110-C thus testifies to a principle that guides our work: considering cybersecurity from the design phase, developing technologies designed to operate in connected industrial environments.
From Machine to Cloud: Protecting Connectivity
Industrial security does not end with a single device but also involves communications between machines, data collection systems, cloud platforms, and users.
Higeco solutions integrate various secure connection methods to enable remote monitoring and control of plants, meeting the needs of different application contexts. WebSocket tunnels, VPN connections, and end-to-end SSL keys help protect communications and securely connect machines to the network.
The introduction of WebSocket tunnels expands the possibilities for connection and remote access, complementing the technologies already available for protecting communications between assets and supervisory platforms.
Our goal is to combine the advantages of industrial connectivity with an approach attentive to data security and access management, offering flexible solutions for monitoring and managing plants even remotely.
A Commitment That Continues Over Time
The ISO/IEC 27001 certification is part of a journey that combines attention to business processes with the development of solutions designed to meet the security needs of the industrial world.
We continue to invest in improving our practices, evolving technologies, and securing connected infrastructures, with the aim of offering our customers reliable solutions suited to a constantly evolving technological landscape.
For Higeco, innovation and security go hand in hand: because connecting plants also means taking responsibility for protecting them.
